For most patients, wisdom teeth can be troublesome due to impaction and limited space in the mouth. This can lead to crooked teeth and damage to the teeth in front of the wisdom teeth. Periodontal disease can be prevalent around these teeth due to the inability to keep the teeth and gums clean. For these reasons, removal may be necessary.
